Today is the BIG day: It is May 30, also known as the fifth Inside Day for those who celebrate!

Five years, five years…

And, if you have been reading my posts since 5/30/21, you would also know that today is the third anniversary of my website!

First there were Twitter deep dive threads, then there was the Bo Burnham Historian, and now I have been the Stand-Up Comedy Historian for three entire years.

Through all of these iterations, I have produced some of my favorite articles, interviews, and deep dives into not just Bo’s works, but also comedy at large. I have learned SO much in the past five years about the mechanics of stand-up, and I have attended performances by some of the best comedians out there today. It’s been quite a ride, and I am optimistic for comedy’s future!

Anyway, to celebrate all of these anniversaries, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at my website and choose my top five favorite posts.

Let’s go!

This is without a doubt the most popular post on SUCH, reaching close to 6,000 views currently. The post lays out all of the power couple’s interactions since Inside premiered in 2021 and offers a clear portrayal of the two just being friends until that blossomed into romance. Let’s just say Keith Urban’s upload with Phoebe and Bo making out at the Taylor Swift concert REALLY helped my numbers blow up.

My most ambitious (and clearly unfinished) series is definitely this one. I started with Bo’s list of influential comics from a Facebook note written in 2010, and I hope to continue writing more about the topic in future posts. And if you want me to do a particular comedian immediately, just leave a comment in this post or feel free to contact me on the website. I adore getting feedback from my readers!

This post was initially created on Twitter, and I am ecstatic that I was able to cross an item off of my bucket list by being able to connect virtually with all of the creators in the top 5 spots. Please check out these interviews to learn more about this extremely talented group of YouTube creators:

My friendship with Quentin is one of the best parts of being in the Bo Burnham fandom. Aside from being a phenomenal interviewer, Quentin helped me get through a very difficult time in my life by texting with me often even though he was in Spain at the time. One of my favorite activities with him was when we streamed James Acaster’s comedy specials at the same time so we could watch them synced up. So much fun!

Quentin is now living in Canada, and you can follow his current very popular YouTube channel if you enjoy deep analysis of critically acclaimed AMC shows (you know I do!).

This is where it all began. One tweet with a few photos of Bo’s clothes before Inside. That post garnered 100 likes when I previously would get maybe one or two at most.

From that tweet on, I have immersed myself in studying the intricacies of stand-up comedy. I follow my passion with each new post, and I am so thankful for my readers through the years.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this retrospective of my website on its anniversary, and please stay tuned for more comedy fun!
